Get Involved
Mentors and volunteers are an integral part of Girls L.E.A.P.
Mentors
Adult mentors serve as friends, role models, and listeners for mentees. Their reliability and ability to share life experiences are invaluable. They undergo background checks and receive annual training in trauma-informed mentoring. Mentors are needed for our 1:1 mentoring program for 5th graders at Northgate Intermediate School, with sessions held twice a month.
Mentors are also welcome to attend Sister Circle sessions for group mentoring, and are encouraged to assist with special events throughout the year such as Girls Get Financially Fit, Mother-Daughter Conversation and Self-Care Day, L.E.A.P. to the Stars Gala, Girls L.E.A.P. Summer STEAM Camp, and Mentor Appreciation Day.
Volunteers
Volunteers play a crucial role in Girls L.E.A.P.'s growth. If you can't commit to being a 1:1 mentor, consider volunteering for events and activities. Opportunities include joining event planning committees, assisting with refreshments, monitoring activity stations, setting up or cleaning up, chaperoning field trips, or supporting social media or newsletters.
Volunteers are not assigned specific mentees but can participate in all Girls L.E.A.P. activities as available.
